Job description

Opportunity to Provide Comprehensive Eye Care at Allegheny Health Network

Allegheny Health Network (AHN) is actively seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Optometrist to join our expanding ophthalmology and vision care team in Pittsburgh, PA. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality, comprehensive eye care within a collaborative, multidisciplinary health system committed to improving patient outcomes and access to care.

The selected candidate will play a key role in delivering primary eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis and management of ocular disease, and coordination of care with ophthalmology subspecialists. This position supports AHNs mission to enhance patient-centered care through innovation, accessibility, and clinical excellence.

This position is based within AHN outpatient clinical sites, with access to advanced diagnostic technology and a strong referral network. The Optometrist will work closely with ophthalmologists, primary care physicians, and allied health professionals to provide coordinated, comprehensive care.

Job Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program.
  • Completion of an accredited optometry program; residency training preferred but not required
  • Eligible for or currently holding Pennsylvania licensure in good standing prior to hire.
  • Experience in comprehensive eye exams, refraction, and management of common ocular conditions (e.g., glaucoma, dry eye, diabetic retinopathy).
  • Strong clinical, communication, and patient engagement skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
