Job Description
EARTHRES, a Division of RESPEC, seeks a CQA Construction Inspection Technician to support our Morgantown, WV location.
The Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Construction Inspection Technician is responsible for performing construction quality assurance inspections and maintaining detailed documentation for Energy and Civil Engineering projects. This role works closely with Construction Inspection Management and Project Managers to ensure project specifications, standards, and timelines are met. Additional responsibilities include:
  • Perform construction quality assurance inspections at Energy and Civil Construction Projects (Ensure the contractor is constructing the location in accordance with the plan design and DEP regulations)
  • Perform soil compaction testing including sieve analysis, one-point proctors and nuclear gage testing, and proof roll testing
  • Perform environmental inspection for E&S controls and Permit Compliance
  • Monitor on-site contractor and work performed. Coordinate tasks and any deviation with the original design with the On-site Management, EARTHRES Management and EARTHRES PMs as required for the specific changes
  • Create project documentation including daily field reports, testing reports, and document equipment in operation and idle on location. Track site visitors and deliveries
  • Coordinate with EARTHRES Management and Staff, On-Site Contractors, and Clients on the timeline of the completion of project milestones
  • During periods of no CQA field work, use your field service and technical experience to assist EARTHRES with other field service programs such as but not limited to AUTOCAD & Civil 3D drafting, Operations, and Engineering Support Services

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following:
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or Engineering is preferred
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in the oil and gas field or heavy equipment operation/site civil excavation experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Willingness to perform fieldwork year-round, potentially for extended durations.
  • Ability to work with a strong technical team, represent and communicate with the Client
  • Ability to work cooperatively with Contractors
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good written and oral communications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize work demands to meet deadlines while exercising independent judgment and working independently
