Job description

We are currently seeking a VAR Melter at our Bakers facility in Monroe, NC. As a Melter, you are an integral part of a successful team responsible for manufacturing titanium electrodes primarily used in the aerospace industry.

During the melting process, you will set up and operate furnaces for production of various Titanium and Titanium alloy ingots, while also working in a controlled environment and rotating to the production floor every few hours to do general maintenance activities. You will clean and prepare furnaces, perform a variety of preoperative and set up duties including loading of electrodes, closing/evacuation of the furnace, and inspect equipment following standard operating procedures.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, dependability, analytical thinking, troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and flexibility in a changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least one (1) year of manufacturing experience
  • At least one (1) year of heavy equipment operation (forklift or overhead crane)

Skills:

  • Basic math skills
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Moderate computer knowledge, with the ability to manipulate data using various programs and computers
