Job description

Description
Company Summary:
Knights of the Attic is a leader in the Duct & Attic Renovation market, combating Arizona's extreme attic temperatures, which can soar to 155• F-damaging HVAC systems and ductwork. We call this hidden threat an Attic Dragon-and we're dedicated to slaying it! We don't sell or service HVAC equipment. Instead, we specialize in fixing the actual problems hidden in attics and duct systems. These problems drain comfort, inflate energy bills, and pollute indoor air.
We help homeowners achieve greater comfort, efficiency, and indoor air quality by offering solutions that:
• Deliver the right amount of air to each room,
• Minimize temperature gain in the duct system and attic,
• Minimize air leakage in the duct system and attic,
• Minimize air pressure in the duct system and between rooms,
• Optimize air quality with advanced filtration and proper ventilation, and
• Reduce noise by reducing system vibration, air turbulence & velocity.
Position Overview:
The Design position is both in-office and hands-on. This position is responsible for the design of projects sold by our internal sales force as well as our 3rd party sales partners. You will work with the Field Design Technicians and the data they collect to develop and document solutions for our customers. As the term 'Knights' portrays, we strive to provide an exceptional level of service and respect for our customers and their property during all interactions.
Position Responsibilities:
As a Designer, you will create solutions for our customers as outlined below:
• Design:
o Assemble and review the data collected by the Field Design Technicians.
o Calculate room-level target airflows from the 3D scan and air temperature measurements using the Company's proprietary tools.
o Design duct modifications or full duct system replacement using the Company's proprietary tools to ensure the proper level cooling/heating will be delivered to each room for optimum comfort.
o Create drawings to document the duct modifications or full duct system replacement.
o Draft clear instructions for the installation team (aka 'Dragon Slayers') that augment the drawings.
o Perform a materials take-off using the Company's proprietary tools to provide POs and/or inventory pick lists for all components necessary to complete the installation.
o Provide room-level target airflow data to the Company's commissioning technicians (aka 'Castle Defenders') for their air balance process during post-install system commissioning.
EOE Statement
We are an equal employment opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.
