About The Role:ย 
As an Airworthinessย Managerย youย willย be responsible forย planning,ย negotiating,ย developing, and delivering the airworthiness artifacts necessary toย facilitateย both military and civil aviationย approvals for developmental and productionย aircraft. The Airworthinessย Managerย will play a critical role inย theย development of theย airworthinessย strategy and execution. The Airworthiness Manager will own the certification process from cradle to graveย enablingย successfulย regulatory compliance and certificationย under bothย traditional andย novel military and civil processes. The successful candidate willย use part 23, part 25, or MIL-HDBK 516 experience toย work cross-functionally withย engineering and external stakeholdersย to successfully implement and execute airworthinessย approvalsย onย aggressiveย timelines.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the organization's airworthiness function, owning both the planning and execution of all airworthiness, compliance, and certification activities.ย 

  • Develop and execute airworthiness plans forย aircraftย development programs, including certification documentation, compliance activities, regulatory coordination, and certification reviews and approvals. This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic leadership and direct execution.ย 

  • Develop and track certification basis and requirements for development ofย aircraft.ย 

  • Develop and implement airworthiness strategies, processes, and procedures in compliance with military and civil aviation regulations.ย 

  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities, certification agencies, and other external entities to obtain andย maintainย relationshipsย necessaryย toย facilitateย timelyย approvals.ย 

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, test, and quality assurance teams to ensure that activitiesย meet or exceedย regulatory standards.ย 

  • Communicate and manage airworthiness tasking, tracking, status, and schedule to shareholders, executive management, and internal teams.ย 

  • Meticulously manage the documentation and record-keeping processes related to airworthiness compliance.ย 

  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on airworthiness regulationsย to ensure compliance isย maintained.ย 

  • Conduct airworthiness assessments and audits toย identifyย and address compliance issues.ย 

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline [preferably in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related field)].ย 

  • Minimum of 6 years of airworthiness experience in aviation/aerospace industry.ย 

  • In-depth knowledge of military and civil aviation regulations and requirementsย (MIL-HDBK 516 or 14 CFR Part 25).ย 

  • Experience in airworthiness management, preferably in both military and civil aviation environments.ย 

  • Strong analytical, organizational,ย and problem-solving skills.ย 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.ย 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.ย 

  • Ability to obtain andย maintainย a U.S. Security Clearance.ย 

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Masterโ€™s degree in STEM discipline [preferably in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related field)].ย 

  • Proven experience in executing airworthiness projects and obtaining andย maintainingย airworthiness certifications.ย 

  • Active U.S. Security Clearance.ย 

  • Experience as an FAA Designed Engineering Representative (DER).ย
