SUMMARY OVERVIEWย ย ย 

The Ramp Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of ramp agents and ensuring the efficient, safe handling of aircraft on the ground. This position involves coordinating activities such as baggage handling, aircraft towing, and servicing aircraft, while adhering to strict safety and operational protocols. You will be pivotal in training and mentoring team members and coordinating with flight crews and other airport personnel to ensure timely aircraft turnarounds. Additionally, this role requires quick decision-making, effective problem-solving, and maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.ย

RESPONSIBILITIESย ย 

  • Supervise the ramp team operations, including aircraft loading and unloadingย 
  • Coordinate ramp activities to ensure timely turnaround of flightsย 
  • Train and mentor ramp team members on operational procedures and safety protocolsย 
  • Monitor team compliance with airline and airport regulationsย 
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings to discuss daily tasks and safety focus pointsย 
  • Oversee the proper handling of baggage, cargo, and mail to prevent damage or lossย 
  • Manage communication between the ramp team, flight crew, and ground operationsย 
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of ground support equipmentย 
  • Implement and enforce safety measures and hazard prevention on the rampย 
  • Respond to and manage operational issues and emergenciesย 
  • Facilitate efficient teamwork to meet flight schedules and service standardsย 
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to ramp team membersย 
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations as required and guidelines, including overseeing the safe and legal operation of airport vehicles, equipment, and personnel involved in airside and landside operationsย 
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify adherence to DOT standards, including reviewing maintenance records, driver qualifications, and safety procedures, and provide training and updates to staff on changes in DOT regulations as requiredย 
  • Liaise with other airport departments for coordinated operationsย 
  • Maintain accurate records of ramp operations and incidentsย 
  • Promote a culture of safety and professionalism within the teamย 
  • Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standardsย 
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by managementย ย 

QUALIFICATIONSย ย 

  • 18 years of age or olderย 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.ย 
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.ย 
  • Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)ย 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in ramp operations or a related aviation fieldย 
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership roleย 
  • Strong knowledge of ramp safety and operational proceduresย 
  • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including theย useย ofย electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devicesย 
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic meansย 
  • Pass a background check and drug screenย ย 
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal, as applicable).ย 
  • Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays ย
