A Day in the Life of a Maintenance Manager:

In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and direct aircraft maintenance at a line station, ensuring cost-effective, reliable maintenance operations while adhering to policies, procedures, and regulations. You'll also maintain the facility in compliance with company and OSHA regulations.

Essential Duties of the Maintenance Manager:

  • Manage mechanics in overall maintenance operation, adhering to regulations and policies.
  • Develop effective schedules to meet operational demands.
  • Stay informed of work-in-progress and prioritize tasks.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels.
  • Innovate aircraft maintenance processes.
  • Maintain a well-equipped maintenance base.
  • Evaluate Continuous Analysis and Surveillance System processes.
  • Report and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate with human resources for employee matters.
  • Oversee vendors and service providers.
  • Foster the Company’s values and culture.
  • Screen, interview, and recommend potential hires.
  • Provide leadership, direction, motivation, and supervision.
  • Appraise performance, provide feedback, and oversee staff training.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant license with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 years of A&P experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • RII and Run and Taxi qualifications on applicable aircraft.

Additional Requirements:

  • Stable employment history.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to pass FAA-required reviews, background checks, and drug and alcohol tests.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various documents.
  • Proficiency in writing reports and business correspondence.
  • Effective presentation and communication skills.

Decision-Making:

  • Make daily decisions on resource use, performance, and budgets.
  • Sound decisions may require additional resource allocation.

Physical Demands:

  • May involve standing, walking, using hands, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of 75 pounds.
  • Strong visual and physical abilities required.

Work Environment:

  • May involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, high places, and chemicals.
