What Will You Be Doing?

As the Operations Research Senior Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in transforming the data and analytics environment at Frontier Airlines. This role will serve as a highly analytical and versatile contributor within the Operations Analytics team, supporting enterprise operational decision making through data engineering, advanced analytics, operational research, reporting automation, and strategic analysis. The ideal candidate will function as a “Swiss Army knife” across operations analytics, partnering with operational departments to identify performance opportunities, develop scalable data solutions, generate actionable insights, and present findings to leadership up to and including executive leadership.

Essential Functions

  • Analyze large operational datasets to identify trends, performance gaps, operational risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Apply operations research, statistical, forecasting, simulation, and analytical techniques to solve complex airline operational problems
  • Design, develop, test, and refine predictive, optimization, simulation, and statistical models using operations research and data science methodologies
  • Support operational initiatives including block time development, turn time analysis, schedule reliability, delay analysis, and operational efficiency studies
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance operational datasets, data pipelines, and reporting solutions supporting the airline’s operational single source of truth
  • Develop and automate dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools using Power BI and related technologies
  • Translate complex technical and analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for operational and executive leadership
  • Partner cross-functionally with operational departments including Tech Ops, Flight Operations, Inflight, Ground Operations, and System Operations
  • Prepare executive ready presentations, reports, and analyses for leadership meetings and operational reviews
  • Maintain data governance standards, metric definitions, and documentation to ensure consistency and accuracy across operational reporting
  • Support ad hoc analyses, special projects, and continuous improvement initiatives across the operation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, related quantitative field, or equivalent experience required
  • Master’s degree in same fields or equivalent experience preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in analytics, operations research, business intelligence, data science, data engineering, or related analytical roles
  • Professional experience using SQL and Python to analyze and manipulate large datasets
  • Experience developing dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence platforms
  • Experience in the airline industry, operational analytics, Databricks, or advanced quantitative modeling preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and optimizing large operational datasets
  • Strong proficiency in Python for analytics, automation, and data engineering applications
  • Experience working within Databricks or similar cloud-based analytics environments
  • Experience developing dashboards and interactive visualizations using Power BI or similar tools
  • Familiarity with AI supported coding and analytical tools, such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar technologies
  • Ability to analyze complex operational data and identify actionable business insights and recommendations
  • Understanding of statistical analysis, forecasting, optimization, simulation, or machine learning concepts
  • Familiarity with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, data governance, and enterprise analytics architecture
  • Strong critical thinking and root cause analysis capabilities
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills
  • Ability to build executive ready PowerPoint presentations and operational summaries
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across operational departments
  • High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to data accuracy and integrity
