What is an Airbnb Experiences?

An Airbnb Experiences job involves hosting unique activities for guests, such as guided tours, workshops, or adventures, through the Airbnb platform. Hosts create and lead these experiences based on their skills, passions, or local expertise. It offers a flexible way to earn income while providing travelers with memorable, authentic activities in their destination.

What does an Airbnb Experiences host do?

As an Airbnb Experiences Host, your daily activities can vary, but generally involve preparing for your sessions, greeting guests, delivering the experience, and handling bookings and communications through the Airbnb platform. You are responsible for creating a welcoming environment, ensuring guest safety, and adapting to different group needs. Scheduling is highly flexible—hosts usually set their own availability and frequency, making it ideal for those seeking part-time or supplementary income. However, some experiences may require preparation outside of event times, such as sourcing materials or coordinating with local vendors. Consistent quality and punctuality are key to building a strong reputation and attracting more participants.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an Airbnb Experiences host?

To succeed as an Airbnb Experiences Host, you need expertise in your chosen activity (such as guiding tours, teaching skills, or hosting workshops) plus familiarity with the Airbnb platform and experience in hospitality or customer service. Proficiency with online booking tools, communication platforms, and, depending on the experience, relevant licensing or certifications may be required. Outstanding soft skills include strong communication, enthusiasm, flexibility, and cultural sensitivity, enabling positive interactions with diverse guests. These competencies are vital to ensure memorable, safe, and well-organized experiences that earn high ratings and repeat bookings.
