Duties This position is in the 153d Airlift Wing, Wyoming Air National Guard and as the Wing Commander, its purpose is to provide leadership and management of the C-130 flying unit(s), that provide worldwide theater airlift for U.S. military in preparation to perform the wartime mission and humanitarian operations, including airdrop and aeromedical evacuations, in support of the Air Force Mobility Command. Additionally, the Wing is tasked with responding to state and federal disasters to assist with relief programs, and it employs the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (MAFFS) to combat wildfires when activated by the National Forest Service, and provides mobile, survivable, and endurable command, control, communications, and intelligence (C4I) capabilities supporting the Air Force Global Strike Command. 1. Directly and through deputy commanders, incumbent determines unit goals which are the foundation for long- and short-range planning and execution of all unit programs and provides a focus for all unit functions and activities. 2. Responsible for the availability of mission capable aircraft to meet unit flying program and alert/contingency requirements. Monitors adequacy of maintenance and repair actions/procedures and components. 3. Ensures manpower authorizations, grades, and specialties are adequate for the mission. Must have knowledge of the United States Air Force or Air National Guard missions and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions. And Must possess experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; and experience leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
