Job description

Air Force Logistics Management Specialist (LMS)

BB&E is a full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.

Position Summary

BB&E, Inc. is seeking two Air Force Logistics Management Specialists (LMS) to support the 638th Supply Chain Management Group at Robins AFB, GA. These positions are contingent upon contract award. This position is intended for local hires residing in the Warner Robins, GA area, or candidates willing to relocate, as working on-site is required. Selected candidates will be asked to provide a resume and sign a Letter of Intent for inclusion in BBE's proposal.

This position provides expert logistics management and supply chain services to advise on strategic sustainment acquisition phases of assigned systems, programs, or major equipment. The LMS leads team members and stakeholders in the implementation of sourcing strategies utilizing the eight-step strategic sourcing process and continuous process improvements to streamline contractual efforts, and conducts analyses on past, current, and future performance and spend data to select the best overall strategy for the portfolio.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plans, manages, and coordinates life cycle logistics support to strategic sustainment acquisition activities for the enterprise Supply Chain
  • Develops, publishes, and updates supply chain strategies and associated implementation plans that help achieve supply objectives through contractual, financial, and technical aspects of the acquisition life cycle
  • Prepares presentations, papers, and other correspondence necessary to support logistics execution

Requirements

Key Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a NACI/CAC is required.
  • Active Secret clearance required (interim clearance not acceptable).
  • Knowledge - Exceptional understanding of Air Force weapon systems logistics, including:
  • Development and implementation of sourcing strategies and enterprise supply plans that keep Air Force weapon systems operational.
  • Strategic sustainment acquisition planning across the contractual, financial, and technical aspects of the acquisition life cycle.
  • Analysis of performance and spend data to shape portfolio-level sourcing decisions.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Software: Proficiency using MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-Starter: Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously.
Experience & Education

Experience: Must have at least eight (8) years of experience in Air Force supply chain management performing tasks associated with the logistics management functional area described above.

Physical Requirements
  • Site visits to operational, production, and warehouse sites may be required.
  • Ability to stand/walk/climb/kneel/crouch and remain in a stationary position/sit at least 60% of the time
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
  • Capable of lifting up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away
  • Ability to understand the speech of another person, speak clearly so listeners can understand, and talk or hear both in person and by telephone
