Description

Project Manager, IT

The Waldinger Corporation | Des Moines, IA | Full-time |

The Waldinger Corporation is hiring a Project Manager, IT for our Des Moines office.  This high-visibility role suits someone who thrives leading cross-functional teams and turning ambitious initiatives into measurable results.

You'll own delivery of mid-sized to large initiatives — sometimes several at once — from kickoff to completion, keeping execution aligned to business outcomes and partnering closely with stakeholders across the organization.

As Waldinger expands its investment in AI-driven tools and automation, this role will also help guide how those initiatives get planned, piloted, and rolled out.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Delivery Ownership: Lead IT initiatives end to end ensuring alignment with business goals and success metrics.
  • Planning and Execution: Build and maintain project plans, schedules, and dependencies, balancing scope, timelines, and priorities across concurrent mid-to-large initiatives
  • Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify and escalate risks and issues, communicate impacts clearly, and recommend actions to keep delivery moving.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across operations, finance, and field teams, communicating progress, risks, and decisions clearly.
  • Financial and Delivery Management: Track costs, resources, and vendor spend to keep delivery aligned with scope and budget.
  • Delivery Practices: Apply consistent delivery methods, lead planning sessions and retrospectives, and drive continuous improvement — including evaluating where AI-assisted tools (for reporting, scheduling, or risk analysis) can improve how the PM function operates.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 5–8 years of experience delivering projects, initiatives, or programs in a technology-enabled field.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology area or equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading or contributing to AI-related or automation initiatives strongly preferred (e.g., piloting AI tools, managing vendor AI integrations, or using AI-assisted tools for planning, reporting, or analysis) — candidates without direct AI project experience but with strong general delivery skills and a willingness to learn are still encouraged to apply.
  • PM or Agile certifications preferred (PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP).

WHAT YOU GET

  • Paid holidays and paid vacation.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match and profit-sharing.
  • Health club reimbursement.
  • Wellness plan with lifestyle spending account.
  • Continuing education and advancement opportunities, plus tuition reimbursement.
  • Term, AD&D, and dependent life insurance.
  • Prepaid legal services.
  • Growth potential with a stable, established company investing in modernizing how it delivers projects.
