What is an AI program manager?

An AI Program Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing and coordinating the planning, execution, and delivery of artificial intelligence projects within an organization. They work closely with data scientists, engineers, stakeholders, and business leaders to ensure AI initiatives align with business goals and are delivered on time and within budget. Their role often includes managing project timelines, resources, communication, and risk, while also keeping up with industry advancements and ensuring ethical AI practices. AI Program Managers bridge the gap between technical teams and business objectives, ensuring successful implementation of AI solutions.

What are some common challenges faced by AI program managers when coordinating cross-functional teams?

AI Program Managers often encounter challenges in aligning diverse teams—such as data scientists, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders—toward shared project goals. Differences in technical backgrounds, communication styles, and priorities can lead to misunderstandings or delays. Successful AI Program Managers proactively facilitate clear communication, set well-defined milestones, and ensure that all team members understand the project's objectives and constraints. To thrive as an AI Program Manager, you need expertise in project management, a strong understanding of AI concepts, and experience leading cross-functional teams, often supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with machine learning frameworks, cloud platforms, agile methodologies, and certifications such as PMP or Scrum Master are highly valuable. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills set standout professionals apart in this role. Sales Development Representative (SDR): AI Computer Vision for Manufacturing

Montreal, QC

$70K - $80K/hr

Full-time

Posted 24 days ago

Job description

The Opportunity

Manufacturing powers the global economy at $50T a year and it relies heavily on human dexterity and skill to produce the goods we rely on every day. Yet manufacturers have little visibility when issues arise at manual assembly stations, impacting productivity and quality.

Assembler AI is changing that.

We use computer vision and artificial intelligence to help manufacturers improve quality, reduce waste, increase throughput, and enable frontline employees to perform at their best.

Backed by Diagram Ventures, we're building a category-defining company at the intersection of AI, manufacturing, and operational excellence.

We're looking for an ambitious Sales Development Representative to help introduce our solution to manufacturers across North America.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building, takes ownership, and wants to play a meaningful role in scaling an early-stage technology company.

What You'll Do

You will be responsible for generating qualified meetings with manufacturing leaders and continuous improvement professionals across North America.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify and prospect target manufacturing accounts
  • Build relationships with Continuous Improvement Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Plant Managers, Quality Leaders, Operations Directors, and other stakeholders
  • Execute personalized outreach through LinkedIn, e-mail, phone and other channels
  • Develop messaging that resonates with manufacturing decision-makers
  • Qualify opportunities and schedule meetings for the leadership team
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and prospect activity
  • Document learnings and contribute to repeatable outbound processes
  • Help develop templates, playbooks, and prospecting strategies that can scale as the company grows

What Success Looks Like within your first year:

  • Consistently generate 15 qualified meetings per month
  • Secure meetings with net-new organizations within Assembler AI's ideal customer profile
  • Build repeatable prospecting processes and messaging
  • Contribute templates and best practices that improve team performance
  • Become a trusted expert in prospecting within the manufacturing sector

Who You Are

You are a proven SDR who enjoys the challenge of opening doors into complex organizations.

You likely have:

  • At least 2 years of SDR or BDR experience selling B2B technology solutions
  • Experience selling into manufacturing organizations
  • A demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding quota
  • Strong cold-calling and outbound prospecting skills
  • Experience managing target-account campaigns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to tailor messaging to specific accounts and personas

You thrive when:

  • There is ambiguity to solve
  • You have ownership over outcomes
  • You can experiment and improve processes
  • You are trusted to figure things out

 What Makes This Different

Many SDR roles ask you to follow an established process.

This role asks you to help build one.

You will work directly with company leadership, influence go-to-market strategy, and contribute to how Assembler AI engages manufacturers across North America.

If you enjoy creating, testing, and refining outbound programs rather than simply executing playbooks, you'll enjoy this role.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $40,000-$50,000
  • Performance bonus: up to $30,000
  • Total on-target earnings: $70,000-$80,000
  • Competitive Health benefits
  • Health and wellness spending account, from $500 to $1,000 annually
  • Latest MacBook and modern sales tooling
  • Opportunity to grow as the company scales

About Assembler AI
