Job description

About the Role

This is a first-of-its-kind operations role at a pre-seed AI recruiting startup: you're the human layer that makes autonomous recruiting agents work at scale. Sitting at the intersection of talent operations and AI quality control, you'll supervise agent pipelines, step in for high-judgment moments, and help define what AI-native recruiting looks like as the product grows.

What You'll Do
  • Monitor live AI agent candidate pipelines, flag errors, and intervene when human judgment is needed.

  • Handle high-stakes conversations — senior candidates, compensation negotiations, and tricky objections — where a human touch wins.

  • Review agent outputs, label good and bad responses, and write training examples that improve AI performance over time.

  • Audit candidate matches, outreach quality, and conversion rates across thousands of weekly touchpoints.

  • Guide candidates through final stages, manage offers, and ensure successful placements close.

  • Document what works, write SOPs, and help build the operational playbook for humans and agents working together.

What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years in talent operations, recruitment, or sourcing at early-stage tech startups (pre-seed or seed stage).

  • Proven ability to design and optimize end-to-end recruitment processes — sourcing, screening, coordination, offer management, and candidate experience.

  • Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) to evaluate quality, identify errors, and understand AI capabilities and limitations.

  • Experience monitoring and quality-assuring high-volume candidate pipelines (hundreds to thousands of weekly touchpoints).

  • Comfort using data to drive decisions — KPIs, dashboards, A/B tests, and conversion rate analysis.

  • Experience training, labeling, or providing feedback to improve AI/ML systems or agent outputs.

  • Strong cross-functional communication skills; able to work fluidly with product, engineering, and leadership teams.

  • Nice to have: Familiarity with TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, or Supabase for effective collaboration with engineers.

  • Nice to have: Background in AI/ML-focused startups or experience with AI-native hiring workflows.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary plus uncapped performance-based compensation tied to placements — top performers earn significantly more. Performance-based equity grants are available after a successful 90-day window. Additional benefits include health insurance and visa sponsorship.

Location

Hybrid role based in San Francisco, CA. On-site presence at the SF office is expected; remote flexibility is available. Fully remote candidates based in the US are also considered.
