Regional Agronomy Manager (IA & NE)

This position will help direct Field Agronomist activities in collaboration with the Regional Business Managers. The Regional Agronomy Manager will help drive sales by focusing agronomists on those duties that will maximize and duplicate his/her time and skills.

This position will serve the marketing territory of Iowa and Nebraska, so we are interested in anyone living in or willing to relocate to these states.

Responsibilities
  • Regional Agronomy Manager will lead and manage an agronomy team in coordination with the sales leadership to help create an outstanding customer experience
  • Create quarterly activity plan in coordination with ATL’s that directs Field Agronomists (FA) toward the most productive path to increasing sales.
  • Sales support activities
  • Local Product expertise - lead FA’s to focus on training Seed Advisors (SA’s) and dealers to help position Becks products locally in order to increase customer success. Assist FA’s in plot coordination and data management. Collaborate with Product leadership to facilitate successful product launches
  • PFR Proven knowledge – train FA’s around PFR Proven products and practices and how to incorporate them into sales conversations and our digital ag platform
  • Force Multiplier training – teach FA’s how to lead/train their SA’s and dealers in order to best multiply their efforts and create a more effective sales force that enhances customer relationships through local agronomy service
  • Personal Development – Assist FA’s to develop personally and professionally in order to grow in role. Includes continuing education as well as business and personal development
  • Assist Director of Research, Agronomy, & PFR in developing targeted and effective quarterly incentive plans. Understand and communicate the development needs of the local FA teams.
  • Work with Agronomy team to develop customer facing content including written, audio and video content. This will include writing and reviewing the content.
  • Attend and participate in ATL and RBM meetings to deliver and train sales teams.
  • Work with Director of Research, Agronomy, & PFR as well as RBMs in developing strategies to help drive regional business plans in order to increase sales.
  • Perform other related duties as may be required by the Director of Research, Agronomy, & PFR.
Job Requirements 1. Education and training
  • M.S. degree in Agronomy or related field preferred
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Agronomy with minimum of seven years of field experience
  • People management experience preferred
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
2. Technical knowledge
  • Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) License preferred
  • Basic computer and current software skills
  • Chauffer license or equivalent required.
3. Physical Demands
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and obtain Medical Examiner’s Certificate may be required
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds unassisted
