HOME REPAIR SPECIALIST 


Reports To: Client Services Director  

Job Classification: Part-Time-15-25 hours per week

Pay Range: $15.00-$22.25 per hour (pay based on relevant previous experience)


Job Summary: We're seeking reliable and skilled Home Repair Specialists to join our team and positively impact the lives of Licking County seniors. In this role, you'll provide essential residential maintenance services to ensure safe, clean, and comfortable living environments for our clients. Additionally, you'll assist with light maintenance tasks and event setup at our agency.


Personal & Professional Attributes: Demonstrate sensitivity, empathy, and understanding of the needs of older, impoverished, and developmentally disabled individuals; display common sense and good judgment and actively promote LCAP to the public. Uphold the highest level of confidentiality, honesty, and integrity, and always represent the organization positively and professionally.


Core Technology Competencies: Demonstrated working knowledge of a tablet for work purposes, notes, and how to use GPS for directions.


General Requirements: Commitment and desire to provide excellent service to all clients and aging community members. Maintain predictable and regular attendance, work stated hours, communicate, comprehend, and follow policies and procedures, and develop and maintain positive working relationships with all staff. Must be able to perform all job responsibilities satisfactorily and meet the same job title's physical requirements. All employees must possess and maintain a Valid Ohio Driver's License and the minimum auto insurance coverage for Ohio (must be able to provide proof upon request). All job offer applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and urine drug screening. 


Essential Duties:

  • Light carpentry, unclogging drains, wall repairs, light bulb/fuse replacement, hanging pictures/bulletins/dry erase boards.
  • Moving appliances and furniture.
  • Carpet and furniture cleaning.
  • Power washing of decks, steps, and ramps.
  • Shoveling and salting of sidewalks.
  • Replacing mailbox, post, and numbers.
  • Seasonal outdoor yard and lot maintenance.
  • Install smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, changing furnace filters.
  • Maintain supply and tool inventory and order as needed.
  • Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Installing, removing, and weatherproofing storm windows.
  • Replacing and installing window and door screens.
  • Heavy Household cleaning.
  • Other routine maintenance duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License and proof of state-minimum auto insurance.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Physical capability to meet the demands of the job.
  • Dependable, regular attendance and the ability to work flexible hours


 Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands described below represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
