Agility Coach information

How does an agility coach typically collaborate with teams and leadership to drive organizational change?

An Agility Coach works closely with both teams and leadership to foster a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability. This involves facilitating workshops, mentoring Scrum Masters and Product Owners, and providing feedback to help teams adopt agile practices. The coach often acts as a bridge between different departments, ensuring alignment on goals and processes while addressing resistance to change. Regular collaboration sessions, retrospectives, and one-on-one coaching are common activities that help embed agile values throughout the organization.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an agility coach, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Agility Coach, you need deep expertise in Agile frameworks (like Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe), change management, and experience leading Agile transformations, often supported by certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP). Familiarity with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Azure DevOps is typically required. Excellent facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal skills help build trust, empower teams, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. These capabilities are critical to drive organizational agility, improve team performance, and ensure successful adoption of Agile methodologies.

What is the difference between Agility Coach vs Scrum Master?

How do you become an agility coach?

To become an agility coach, individuals typically need relevant experience in agility practices, such as Scrum or Kanban, and often pursue certifications like Certified Scrum Professional or ICAgile certifications. Developing strong coaching, communication, and leadership skills is essential, and many gain experience through roles in project management or team facilitation before transitioning into coaching positions.

Job description

Hexagon Agility, a business of Hexagon Composites, is a leading global provider of clean fuel solutions for commercial vehicles and bulk gas transportation with more than $400 million of revenues. Our product offerings include (renewable) natural gas bulk distribution systems of compressed gases, lightweight Type 4 composite natural gas cylinders, and (renewable) natural gas fuel systems. These products transport clean gaseous fuels and enable vehicles to reduce emissions while lowering operating costs.

Location: Lincoln, NE
Reports To:
Production Supervisor

Lead by Example. Build the Future.

At Hexagon Agility, we're helping power the future of clean transportation. As a global leader in alternative fuel systems and lightweight composite cylinders, our products help commercial vehicles reduce emissions while lowering operating costs.

We believe great leaders aren't the people with all the answers—they're the people who develop others, remove obstacles, and aren't afraid to jump in and work alongside the team when needed.

We're looking for a Production Team Lead who enjoys leading people just as much as producing great work. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes pride in developing others, solving problems, and helping a team succeed every day.

What You'll Do

As a Production Team Lead, you'll serve as the frontline leader for your assigned production area. You'll work closely with your Production Supervisor to keep operations running safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

This is a working leadership role—you'll spend time coaching and supporting your team while also stepping in to operate equipment or assist with production whenever needed to keep the operation moving.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Lead by example in safety, quality, attendance, and teamwork.
  • Coach, train, and support production team members to achieve daily goals.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable team environment.
  • Ensure work is performed according to Standard Work Instructions, process specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Verify team members are properly trained before performing assigned work.
  • Coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
  • Monitor production performance and quickly respond to issues that impact output.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Materials to solve problems and improve processes.
  • Assist with process start-up, changeovers, and production flow throughout the shift.
  • Jump into production and operate equipment as needed to support the team and maintain workflow.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and help implement better ways of working.
  • Complete production documentation and communicate important information to leadership.

What Makes You Successful

Successful Team Leads are more than great operators—they're coaches who enjoy helping others succeed.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Leads with integrity and earns the respect of their teammates.
  • Communicates clearly and positively.
  • Takes ownership and solves problems without waiting to be asked.
  • Stays calm and organized in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Is willing to coach others while continuing to learn and grow personally.
  • Can balance hands-on production work with leadership responsibilities.
  • Leads by serving the team rather than directing from the sidelines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience required.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of the production area you'll support.
  • Previous leadership, mentoring, or training experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and OSHA requirements is a plus.

Why Join Hexagon Agility?

At Hexagon Agility, we believe our people are our greatest competitive advantage. We invest in developing leaders from within and provide opportunities for growth across both technical and leadership career paths.

When you join our team, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Make a meaningful impact every day.
  • Help build products that support a cleaner energy future.
  • Develop your leadership skills while continuing to strengthen your technical expertise.
  • Work alongside a collaborative team focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Grow your career within a global manufacturing organization.

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing for extended periods (up to 12 hours), frequent walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 60 pounds regularly and up to 120 pounds with assistance (team lift available). Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required based on the work being performed.

Ready to Lead?

If you're looking for more than just another manufacturing job—and you're ready to help develop people while producing industry-leading products—we encourage you to apply and become part of the Hexagon Agility team.
