Location: Hoover, AL
Job Type: Contract to Hire, Hybrid (3 days on site)
Pay Range: $60-62 per hour

About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead and optimize the flow of value across Agile Release Trains (ARTs). This individual will drive program execution, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives across multiple teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Agile program leadership, SAFe methodologies, and large-scale technology delivery environments. This role offers the opportunity to influence organizational performance through continuous improvement, servant leadership, and effective execution at scale.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee medium-sized or multiple small-to-medium Agile Release Trains with complex dependencies.
  • Facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning and release planning activities across teams.
  • Coordinate feature delivery, major releases, and cross-functional initiatives involving multiple teams and solution groups.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies across Agile Release Trains.
  • Monitor Agile delivery metrics and leverage data-driven insights to improve program performance and value delivery.
  • Coach leaders, Scrum Masters, and Agile teams on Lean-Agile principles and SAFe practices.
  • Manage changes to quarterly plans while maintaining alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate communication and transparency among stakeholders, leadership, and delivery teams.
  • Track features and capabilities throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives through retrospectives and program assessments.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Product Owners, Solution Management, and PMO teams to ensure successful execution and operational excellence.
  • Support Agile Release Train budgeting and financial planning activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Agile Project Manager, or Agile Program Manager

OR
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 10+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Agile Project Manager, or Agile Program Manager
Preferred Qualifications
  • SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification or other Scaled Agile certifications
  • Experience leveraging and interpreting Agile delivery metrics
  • Previous leadership or people management experience
Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of SAFe and Agile-at-scale methodologies
  • Experience facilitating large-scale planning and solutioning sessions
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
