PurposeAssess properties of aggregates like strength, durabilityAssess overall concrete quality, strength, and setting

Aggregate Testing focuses on evaluating the properties of aggregates used in construction, such as strength and durability. Concrete Testing assesses the quality and strength of the concrete mixture itself. Both are essential in construction but serve different roles in ensuring material performance and safety.

How to become a construction materials tester?

To become a construction materials tester, typically one needs a high school diploma or equivalent, followed by specialized training or certification in materials testing methods. Gaining experience with testing tools and procedures, such as sieve analysis or concrete testing, is important, and some positions may require certification from organizations like the American Concrete Institute or the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies.
