Job Summary

The Aggregate Operations Foreman is responsible for leading the daily task of production requirements regarding safety, quality, productivity and maintenance. Plant functions include repairs/maintenance, ordering parts and supplies as needed, daily production reporting and communicating with the manager and production teams to ensure successful daily operations.  The foreman is responsible for maintaining proper material quality and inventory levels of material to meet demand.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains proper material quality and inventory levels of material to meet demand
  • Performs plant maintenance - maintains a safe, clean and environmentally compliant operation
  • Performs safety/quality/mechanical inspections of the plant and mobile equipment
  • Addresses any housekeeping issues within the work area
  • Operates loaders, excavators, haul trucks, skid steers and bull dozers
  • Understands the process flow of the plant and is diligent in producing a quality product
  • Regularly monitors performance all process pieces of the plant
  • Accurately completes and maintains reports and compliance records (maintenance, environmental, safety & production)
  • Successfully completes and maintains Method 9 Emissions certification
  • Understands MSHA rules and regulations
Education

High school diploma/GED

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Background in aggregate plant operations - Knowledge of the equipment and methods used in the production process, and related aspects of materials storage, handling and distribution of aggregate
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, quarry or mining operations, or industrial plant supervision
  • Experience as a heavy equipment operator including loaders, bull dozers, off road trucks and excavators
  • Hands on experience and knowledge of crushers, screens, washing plants, pumps, haul trucks and loaders
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and maintenance schedules
  • Proficient in maintenance tracking systems and work orders
  • Physical requirements:  walk, climb, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, drive, ride, twist, push/pull of controls and ride on rough terrain
  • Able to lift and or move 75 lbs. on a routine basis; 100 lbs. on an occasional basis
  • Able to work in wet and dry conditions as well as extreme heat or cold
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Current MSHA training certification a plus; working knowledge of MSHA regulations and industrial safety practices
  • Experience welding and cutting preferred

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
