Job description

As a Business Development Executive, you will develop and sustain strong relationships with our regional agencies to create business plans and ensure that forecasted goals are met or exceeded. A successful candidate in this position will use targeted marketing efforts to increase new agency business, develop current agencies, and maintain Great West's digital presence in the market.
LOCATION: This position is located out of our Bloomington, IN office and will require up to 75% travel.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage agency relationships and act as a resource and trainer for agency personnel regarding Great West's products, services, and procedures.
  • Assist agencies with production goal setting and review progress on a quarterly basis with business partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with outside associations and groups while providing valuable information about Great West.
  • Conduct market share analyses, projections, and identify new possibilities for agency partnerships.
  • Facilitate communication flow between agents, underwriters, and other departments.
  • Partner with corporate marketing department to coordinate regional agent meetings, agent councils, and educational seminars.

We are looking for candidates who have:
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related field.
  • Knowledge of insurance and preferably some exposure to the trucking industry.
  • Minimum of 4 years in insurance marketing, agency producer, sales, underwriting, or claims position.
  • Strong communication, time management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • A drive for continual development of product knowledge and insurance educational programs: AU, CPCU, CIC, CISR, CRM, STAR
