Position at BayMark Health Services
Full Time - Staff Accountant Healthcare
Reporting directly to the Accounting Supervisor or Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant for BayMark Services, Inc. is responsible for certain accounting and compliance functions for the company. This person will be responsible for the accuracy and timely completion of all accounting functions. Travel as necessary.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly journal entries to record such items as prepaid expenses, accruals, amortizations, depreciation, note interest, subsidiary revenue reporting and revenue reserves
  • Analyze balance sheet accounts, revenue and expenses and explain variances
  • Prepare monthly Financial Reports
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Support integration of acquisitions
  • Integrate acquisitions into the financial accounting process
  • Support Programs by responding promptly and accurately to inquiries
  • Support the annual financial audit process and special audits during the year
  • Cross-train with the other staff to perform duties during absence
  • Remain composed in a stressful environment and deal with frequent deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Follow instructions and use critical thinking skills to make decisions
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and interact with others
  • Must be present during working hours at the office for in person meetings and access to a computer without violating company policy
  • Comply with internal financial controls, policies and procedures

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Prior accounting experience (2+ years)
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills are required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel. Experience working with Great Plains is a plus
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and possess strong analytical and organizational skills in managing multiple projects
  • Must be able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment in which attention to detail and audit-trail documentation must be maintained in the face of multiple competing demands for your time
  • Compliance with accepted professional standards and practices
  • Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check
