What types of part-time jobs are commonly available to 14-year-olds, and what should I expect in terms of work hours and supervision?

At age 14, you can typically find part-time jobs such as babysitting, lawn mowing, pet sitting, or working as a cashier or stock clerk in small retail stores, ice cream shops, or fast food restaurants, depending on local labor laws. Expect to work limited hours, often restricted to after school or weekends, and always under close supervision by an adult or manager. Employers are legally required to ensure your safety and follow regulations regarding the types of tasks you can perform, so you'll usually receive guidance and support as you learn. These jobs are a great way to build responsibility, time management skills, and earn your first paycheck in a supportive environment.
