Job Description

THIS POSITION IS PROJECT-BASED AND IS EXPECTED TO RUN APPROXIMATELY 12 - 18 MONTHS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY FOR LONG-TERM EMPLOYMENT BASED ON BUSINESS NEEDS AND PERFORMANCE.

THE POSITION

Hoosier Racing Tire in Plymouth, IN is seeking an Electrical Technician - 1st shift to join our team. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role supports production operations through equipment maintenance, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and safe repair practices while ensuring quality and efficiency standards are met.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Diagnose and complete high-quality repairs on AC/DC electrical control systems, including PLCs, hardwired circuits, field devices, motors, drives, and servo systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems using schematics, diagnostic software, precision measurement tools, and specialized testing equipment.
  • Replace defective components, restore equipment to operation, and verify proper system functionality and performance.
  • Perform maintenance on hydraulic, lubrication, piping, and fluid power systems, including draining, refilling, bleeding, and repairing associated components.
  • Operate machine tools, hand tools, and welding equipment to fabricate, modify, and repair mechanical, structural, and sheet metal components.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, labor time, faults, and corrective actions within SAP/PUMA systems using an iPad.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including LOTO and PPE requirements, while maintaining compliance with plant, corporate, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams while supporting operational needs through overtime, coverage, and additional assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Associates degree in an electrical field, or
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in an electrical field
  • Certificate in an electrical field
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Limited travel within the U.S. may be required.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.
  • Relocation is not offered for this position.
