Lincoln County School District is accepting on-line applications for a 21st Century Program Teaching Assistant/South Area After School Program. Position located primarily at Crestview Heights.
The primary purpose of this position is to perform record keeping and other tasks as directed by the classroom teacher to assist teaching staff.
Essential job duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Confers with teaching staff on progress of student(s).
  • Assists staff with record keeping, copying, filing and grading papers.
  • Works with teachers to develop educational material.
  • Assists teacher in communicating with parents regarding student's progress in general.
  • Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment and demonstrations as requested.
  • Supervise students in classroom, halls, cafeteria, playground, gym and/or on field trips.
  • Grade homework and tests; and compute and record results.
  • Plan, prepare and develop various teaching aids such as charts and graphs.

Qualified applicants will be asked for an interview and must provide a resume and at least 2 letters of recommendation. Upon selection, employees will be required to complete a background clearance including fingerprinting.
This will be 17.5 hours per week - after school program (~3.5 hours/day). Typical hours would be 2:30-5:45 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Wednesdays from 1:30-6:00.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Starting Salary: $17.59 - $19.42 per hour
Must meet NCLB requirement at time of hire.
