Job Summary:

The After-School Program Attendant supports the daily operations of an after-school program by supervising students, assisting with activities, ensuring safety, and creating a positive, inclusive environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and teens in a structured, fun, and supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and engage with students in academic, recreational, and enrichment activities.
  • Assist with homework help, group games, arts and crafts, and special programming.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment at all times.
  • Monitor student behavior and support positive conflict resolution and behavior management techniques.
  • Escort students to and from designated areas such as bathrooms, pickup zones, or activity stations.
  • Prepare and distribute snacks as needed in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Report incidents, injuries, or concerns to the Program Coordinator or Site Supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain attendance records and help with daily sign-in/sign-out procedures.
  • Participate in staff meetings and required trainings.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience working with children (e.g., in a school, camp, or childcare setting) is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Enthusiastic and patient with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage children of various ages in structured and unstructured activities.
  • Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Basic first aid/CPR certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
