About This RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate After School Program Teacher to join our team at Beulah Duke Learning Academy, located within Chesapeake Christian Center. The ideal candidate will create a secure, structured, and enjoyable environment for school-age children during after-school hours. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children learn, grow, and develop positive relationships in a faith-based setting.
What You'll Do- Engage with and supervise school-age children in a safe, nurturing, and organized manner.
- Support children with homework, enrichment activities, and creative play.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social and emotional growth.
- Effectively communicate with parents, staff, and administration.
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment, ensuring safety procedures are followed.
- Contribute to center-wide events and family engagement activities as needed.
Requirements- Ability to pass a background check and complete required training.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with children in a group setting preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Reliable, flexible, and team-oriented.
Hours: 2:00pm-5:30pm
Nice To Haves- Experience planning activities or leading small groups.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Training or degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
