Afternoon Preschool Teacher – Part-Time
Location: The Learning Experience – Ashburn, VA
Pay: Starting at $20 per hour (higher pay available based on experience and credentials)
Schedule: Part-Time, Monday–Friday | Approximately 3:00 PM–6:00/6:30 PM

The Learning Experience – Ashburn is looking for an experienced and dependable Afternoon Preschool Teacher to join our team and help make the last few hours of the school day just as engaging and positive as the first.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced early childhood educator looking for a consistent part-time afternoon schedule. You'll support our classrooms during afternoon activities, transitions, family pick-up, and closing routines.
What You'll Do
  • Provide classroom support during the afternoon and closing hours
  • Engage children in age-appropriate play, learning activities, art, music, and outdoor experiences
  • Support afternoon snacks, transitions, and end-of-day routines
  • Maintain attentive supervision and positive classroom management
  • Build warm, positive relationships with children and families
  • Assist with classroom organization and closing procedures
  • Collaborate with Lead Teachers and center leadership
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment
  • Follow applicable Virginia childcare licensing requirements
Qualifications
  • Previous professional childcare, daycare, or preschool experience required

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • CDA preferred, but not required

  • Early Childhood Education coursework or credentials are a plus
  • Reliable and consistently available for afternoon hours
  • Patient, energetic, nurturing, and team-oriented
  • Must meet applicable Virginia childcare licensing requirements
