Job description

We are a licensed in-home childcare program seeking a dependable, organized, and professional Home Childcare Assistant to support our daily operations. This is a dual-role position designed to align with the natural rhythm of an in-home childcare setting.

Responsibilities shift throughout the day based on childrenโ€™s schedules. When children are awake, the role focuses on childcare support. During scheduled nap/rest periods, responsibilities transition to household support tasks.
Children are always under active supervision of 1 adult during nap.ย
This position is ideal for someone who values structure, flexibility, and understands that maintaining a well-run home environment supports high-quality childcare.
โ€œThis role is intentionally structured to combine childcare and household support duties within a licensed in-home setting.โ€

Primary Responsibilities:
Childcare Support:
  • Assist with supervision and daily routines.
  • Support transitions, activities, and classroom flow.
  • Help maintain a calm, safe, and nurturing environment.

Household Support (completed during scheduled nap/rest times 2-3x/week):
  • General household cleaning of the personal home (not childcare programming).
  • Kitchen cleanup, surface sanitizing, sweeping and mopping.
  • Light laundry as needed.
  • Tidying and maintaining common household areas.

Important Role Expectations:
  • This position includes both childcare and household support responsibilities as a regular part of the role. Applicants should be comfortable with alternating duties based on the daily schedule.
  • This is a personal home setting; household tasks support overall operations and are not a substitute for childcare supervision.
  • Due to the nature of childcare staffing, reliability and consistent attendance during scheduled work hours are essential.

Requirements:
  • Basic English proficiency.
  • Background check and fingerprinting required.
  • Prior childcare experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a home environment.
  • Reliable, respectful, and detail-oriented.

Benefits:
  • Paid ALL federal holidays (when childcare is closed).
  • Two weeks paid vacation.
  • Opportunity for raises and performance-based bonuses.
  • Paid rest breaks are provided during scheduled nap/rest times, in alignment with the needs of the program.
