Job description

Job Title: General Labor

Job Description

This role involves performing physically demanding general labor tasks in a busy metal manufacturing facility. You will load and unload metal automotive parts, operate and monitor machinery assisted by robots, and carry out basic quality checks to ensure parts are correctly labeled and sorted. The position requires frequent lifting throughout the shift and adherence to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Unload metal automotive parts into machines and ensure each part is securely clamped before operation.
  • Load parts into the machine at regular intervals while robots handle unloading and stacking tasks.
  • Perform visual and basic quality checks on finished products to confirm they meet required standards.
  • Sort parts into appropriate bins according to part numbers and labels, maintaining accuracy and organization.
  • Lift and handle parts weighing approximately 20–45 lbs every 2–3 minutes throughout the shift.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around metal machining equipment in a loud, busy environment.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area to support efficient and safe operations.
  • Work frequent Saturday shifts and occasional Sunday shifts as scheduled to support production demands.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to lift and handle 25–40 lbs frequently and up to approximately 40–45 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Proven experience performing physically demanding work, such as construction, farming, landscaping, or similar roles.
  • Comfort working in a very physical, repetitive environment that requires continuous lifting and movement.
  • Attention to detail for checking part quality and verifying correct part numbers and labels.
  • Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures for machine loading and part handling.
  • Reliability and willingness to work rotating shifts, including days, afternoons, midnights, and frequent Saturdays.
  • Capability to work safely in a loud manufacturing setting with metal machining operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, assembly, parts washing, or machine operation.
  • History in handling heavier materials and metal parts rather than only plastics or lighter products.
  • Familiarity with basic quality control practices in a production environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to straightforward, repetitive tasks and maintain consistent performance over the entire shift.

Why Work Here?

You join a busy, well-organized manufacturing facility where expectations are clear and the work is straightforward to learn. The role offers consistent hours across multiple shifts, frequent opportunities for overtime, and premium pay for occasional Sunday work. You gain hands-on experience in metal manufacturing and machine-assisted production while working in a well-lit environment with defined processes and safety standards.

Work Environment

The position is based in a metal manufacturing facility where metal machining is performed. The environment is loud and busy, with machines and robots operating throughout the production area. Work takes place in a well-lit space, primarily at waist and knee height, where you lift parts from knee height to waist height and place them on designated surfaces or into bins. The job is very physical and involves continuous lifting of 20–45 lb metal parts every few minutes. Shifts run on a rotating schedule: days from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., afternoons from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and midnights from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The schedule includes working many Saturdays and rare Sunday shifts, with Sunday hours paid at a higher rate.
