Job description

The Regional Vice President (RVP) of Sales at Acumen Financial Advantage (AFA) is responsible for driving new and recurrent business growth by securing sales opportunities with influential decision makers and leaders of financial institutions, healthcare providers, educational institutions, and nonprofits. The RVP will manage a geographic territory, cultivate assigned Channel Partner relationships, and deliver strategic solutions that align with client goals. Success is measured by pipeline growth, closed revenue, and contribution to AFA’s overall sales goals.

What You'll Do Business Development and Prospecting
  • Develop and execute tailored territory sales plans targeting high-value prospects
  • Leverage industry contacts, networking, cold outreach, and market research to generate qualified leads to set up introductory meetings, identify client pain points, and position tailored solutions
  • Qualify and prioritize leads to maintain a strong, high-potential pipeline
  • Represent AFA at industry conferences, networking events and client meetings
  • Deliver compelling presentations and proposals to executive-level buyers
  • Manage opportunities through all sales stages, collaborating with Consultants and Product Specialists to close deals
  • Maintain accurate and timely CRM (Salesforce) documentation and records of activities, pipeline status, and forecasts
  • Build trusted relationships with assigned Channel Partners, developing joint go-to-market strategies and revenue goals
Channel Partner Relationship Management
  • Foster trust with assigned Channel Partners through consistent demonstration of strong follow-through and a focus on building scalable, repeatable sales approaches that address needs efficiently, while maximizing value
  • Work with the Channel Partner sales teams to develop business plans, revenue goals, market activities, and go-to-market strategies tailored to specific AFA prospects
  • Conduct regular heck-ins to assess progress, share insights, and ensure alignment
Training and Development
  • Attain deep knowledge of AFA’s solutions and services to effectively represent offerings
  • Pursue professional development through AFA’s internal certification process to enhance qualified skills
  • Routinely assess and understand industry market trends and regulatory guidelines to effectively differentiate AFA solutions
What You Bring
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability in prospecting, cold calling, and closing executive-level sales
  • Selling capability across a broad spectrum of key stakeholders using an informed, factual, and consultative approach
  • Sales planning and territory management
  • Proactive research and analysis in market trends and competitive knowledge
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats, as well as facilitate compelling sales presentations using demonstrated sales acumen and supportive audiovisual and aids
  • Strong negotiation proficiency, professionalism, and relationship management skills
  • Results-oriented with high motivation to independently meet or exceed sales and revenue goals
  • High level of personal integrity, accountability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to attend industry conferences and events for purpose of sales prospecting, brand marketing and relationship building
  • Ability to travel as needed, 50-60%
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance and Risk Management, Finance, Mathematics, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five (5) years external sales experience in the insurance, banking, or credit union industry required; OR eight (8) years’ experience in external business development and sales experience required
  • Series 7 + Series 63 (required)
  • Product training and demonstration experience required
  • Industry and financial certifications, a plus
  • Experience in the complete sales lifecycle including prospecting, presenting, negotiating, and closing sales deals
  • Familiar knowledge of different carriers, concepts and solutions in financial planning, executive retention, retirement, and life insurance
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Salesforce preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite or related software
