Job description

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong commercial, aerospace marketing and/or technical/engineering background, ideally including customer account management and relationship building.  In coordination with manufacturing operations, this role will cover all Howmet Engines capabilities, with a particular focus on airfoil and structural castings and airfoil coatings. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strong, trusting and collaborative relationships with customer sourcing, value stream, quality, engineering, and other support organizations.
  • Understand the customer’s organization, products and markets including related priorities, issues and opportunities to best position Howmet Engines to serve customer needs.
  • Identify and prioritize customer business growth opportunities, leveraging Howmet products, technical capabilities, and capacity.
  • Manage, support and coordinate customer and internal processes, including but not limited to: 

    • RFQ coordination with Howmet sites and Marketing including:
      • Alignment of Howmet’s capabilities with specific customer needs.  
      • Business review support/oversight including internal presentations, financial analysis, quote preparation, commercial approvals, submittal, and customer follow up 
  • Open items tracking/resolution with Howmet sites to support customer requirements and provide effective and timely dispute resolution.

  • Customer demand visibility support leveraging customer portals, MRP, and discreet demand forecasts as needed. 

  • Customer scorecard analysis including quality and delivery performance correlation and communication.

  • Concurrent engineering, joint customer cost reduction activity coordination.
  • Customer contract/terms and conditions maintenance and development including price and portfolio management, alloy elemental management activities, economic indices tracking and other key business items. 

  • Strong, collaborative and analytical approach supporting the annual Budget/Long Range Plan process with our sites, Marketing, and the customers.

  • Customer meeting coordination and related preparation assistance with Howmet sites.

  • Customer on time pay performance management to agreed terms with assistance provided as required in coordination with Howmet sites and Credit organization.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution.  
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in sales, marketing, and/or account management.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Engineering.
  • Aerospace airfoils and structural castings market knowledge or experience highly desired. 
  • Experience within the Aerospace Industry, with investment castings, coatings or in the machining of metal components preferred. 
  • Proven customer relationship abilities and account manager aptitude. 
  • Exceptional written/oral communication, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects and interact with all organization levels
  • Understanding of key terms and conditions and their potential business impact, documents and commercial agreements.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and related computer skills.
