Overview
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.
Responsibilities
As an Aerospace Engineer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:
  • Perform aerospace engineering in support of flight control system development; aircraft modeling and simulation; analysis of aircraft flight dynamics; and ground and flight test support.
  • Support the design, development, integration, and test of aircraft flight control systems and autopilots.
  • Develop, integrate, and validate models of aircraft flight dynamics and subsystems such as payloads, engines, transmissions, flight control components, and sensors.
  • Support lab, ground, and flight qualification testing of aircraft avionics, sensors, and flight control systems.

Qualifications
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Secret clearance after hiring.
    U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering.
  • 1-2 years' professional experience related to Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience with MATLAB and MATLAB scripting.
  • Excellent documentation and report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of sound engineering practices that may include such areas as requirement tracking, configuration control, technical communication, and/or the peer review process.
