Job description

Do you have an eye for detail and enjoy working with amazing products and tools? Join us in championing and protecting explorers and heroes! As a Test Engineer I, you will be responsible for supporting the test and certification of advanced aerospace and defense products. Your role will involve developing and executing basic test plans and procedures to ensure product requirements are met. This position will also require you to collaborate with cross-functional teams and utilize industry-standard tools to perform tests on components and systems.
Our testing approach evolves with the design maturity, extending from initial stages through to post-production follow-ups on subsequent articles.
The role involves extensive system testing, aimed at assessing a broad spectrum of mission equipment such as communication, computing, navigation, and surveillance systems, to ensure they meet design and functionality standards.
Please note, this role does not require any knowledge or skills related to software or automation testing.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and execution of test plans and procedures.
  • Perform basic testing and validation of components and systems/sub-systems.
  • Record and analyze test data, providing initial reports on test results.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure test requirements are understood and met.
  • Maintain test equipment and ensure proper calibration and functionality.
  • Participate in internal/external meetings and briefs.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related field.
  • 0-2+ years of experience in test engineering or a related role.
  • Basic understanding of requirements, testing principles, and methodologies.
  • Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
  • Knowledge of requirements management, system design, and systems integration.
  • Exposure to planning, conducting and documenting Verification and Validation (V&V) activities.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Internship or project experience in aerospace or defense industry.
  • Experience with various testing equipment, standards, and methodologies to include manual and automated testing.
  • Ability to prepare complex and professional test plans, test procedures, and test reports in order to demonstrate compliance to system requirements.
  • Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and use logical trouble shooting techniques.

Essential Functions:
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Ability to work in an office, lab, hangar, or offsite environment.
