Aerospace Quality Inspection Positions


Location:

Tempe - 1515 W 17th St, Tempe, AZ 85281

Shift:

Day Shift

Night Shift w/20% Differential pay


Position Overview:

Performs mechanical inspections of products to determine conformance to the customers Engineering prints and specifications, utilizing standard mechanical instruments, CMMs, functional gauges, test fixtures, and electronic diagnostic instruments for variable data collection. Follows Manufacturing plans and inspection procedures to report product status accurately, record turn backs for resolution, and identify nonconforming material to be properly documented and segregated.


Responsibilities:

  • Conducts first article inspection on set up parts off machines
  • Record and document dimensional findings
  • Works with department leads/set up machinist evaluating inspection data
  • Periodical in-process inspection
  • Run proven CMM programs


Basic Qualifications:

·         3 years minimum experience in aerospace inspection manufacturing environment

·         Strong understanding of ANSI Y 14.5 and GDT required

·         Experience with micrometers, optical comparator, height gages, profilometer

·         CMM experience required (PCDMIS, QC5000, Brown and Sharp Reflex)

·         Inspector is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of appropriate workmanship standards and be able to use sampling plans to establish product acceptance in line with the customers specifications


Preferred Skills:

·         Ability to conduct receiving inspections using standard mechanical, and electrical instruments, functional gauges, test fixtures and utilizing CMMs with existing Part Programs

·         Basic math aptitude

·         Organizational skills

·         Ability to read engineering drawings

·         Interpret technical specifications, product certifications, manufacturing planning, and inspection procedures

·         Ability to interpret SPC plans and results, analyze SPC data for Manufacturing Improvements, understand and perform Gage R&R studies

·         Report product status accurately, record turn-backs for resolution, analyze product history for trends and identify nonconforming material to be properly documented and segregated using Computer software

·         Prepare and use standard documentation for reporting and detailed inspection plans for the purpose of recording measurement results on Computer software

·         Perform process / product audits, over-checks for product validation, and review product history for trends and analysis

  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection
  • Must tolerate exposure to machining dust, oils, and moderate noise levels in a manufacturing environment
