Job description

Job Summary:
The Aerial Lineman is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecommunications systems. This role supports the construction and upkeep of fiber optic and coaxial cable networks by performing work on utility poles and elevated structures while ensuring safety, quality, and production standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, lash, and secure aerial fiber optic and coaxial cables to utility poles and strand.
  • Climb poles and operate bucket trucks to perform elevated work safely and efficiently.
  • Perform strand construction, including guying, anchoring, and tensioning.
  • Read and interpret construction prints, maps, and work orders.
  • Install and maintain hardware such as brackets, clamps, and cable support systems.
  • Ensure proper clearances, sag, and alignment according to engineering specifications.
  • Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot aerial network issues.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working condition.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and project managers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in telecommunications or aerial line work preferred.
  • Ability to climb poles and work at heights in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required).
  • Pay is based on experience
