Job description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Aerial Lineman to join our telecommunications construction team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of overhead telecommunications infrastructure. The ideal candidate has experience working at heights, operating bucket trucks, and safely performing aerial line work in various weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair overhead telecommunications lines and related equipment.
  • Set utility poles and place anchors for aerial telecommunications systems.
  • Climb poles and work from bucket trucks to access aerial facilities.
  • Install and secure cables, hardware, strand, and other aerial components.
  • Read and interpret construction prints, utility maps, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
  • Test equipment and verify proper system operation.
  • Perform routine inspections and identify potential safety hazards or maintenance needs.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and effectively.
  • Complete required documentation, reports, and project paperwork accurately.
  • Follow all company policies, OSHA regulations, and industry safety standards.
  • Participate in required safety meetings, training, and certifications.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Lineman apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ariel Lineman or in overhead electrical line work.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to safely climb poles and work at heights.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous manual labor.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Previous telecommunications or utility construction experience.
  • Experience operating bucket trucks and other aerial equipment.
  • Pole climbing and fall protection training/certifications.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to climb poles, ladders, and work at elevated heights for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, and walking.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
  • Must be comfortable working near active roadways, construction zones, and utility infrastructure.
