Position Summary and Job Responsibilities
Position Summary
BGI is currently seeking a Surface Warfare Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support ongoing efforts in either Pax River, MD or Virginia Beach, VA. SME must be an expert in Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) systems, and AEGIS Combat System (ACS) with experience in weapons employment, radar resources, Link architectures and building weapons doctrine.
Job Responsibilities
Work will include applying subject knowledge to investigate, analyze, plan, research, design, develop, implement, and evaluate the use of modeling and simulation tools and/or stimulation products. The candidate should be able to apply expert knowledge in a modeling and simulation environment, to include instances of test and evaluation. The individual will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise while acting as a liaison with customer representatives to ensure requirements are satisfied. A general understanding of systems engineering processes is preferred.
  • Conduct device test in support of Hardware/Software Integration and Verification test
  • Plan, execute and debrief mission-based test missions in support of device Validation test
  • Support verification and validation missions as instructor operating station instructors
  • Provide accurate test results during debrief sessions to capture test discrepancies
  • Review requirements and provide input for new software developments
  • Conduct general subject matter research, analysis, correlation, and assessment
  • Assist in the NGTS introduction to fleet activities
  • Act as a technical liaison to outside organizations

Required and/or Preferred Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Surface Warfare Officer (SWO)
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of AEGIS Weapons System (AWS) experience
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CG/DDG Tactical Action Officer (TAO) qualification
  • Surface Warfare Tactics Instructor AQD

Other Requirements:
  • US citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a USG secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. BS degree in Computer Science, or Engineering is preferred
  • DOD Contractor experience
