MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Junior AEGIS Weapons Control System (WCS) Engineer to join our team in King George, VA.
This will support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) on the Navy's AEGIS program based in Dahlgren, VA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Testing and evaluation of primary system is AEGIS Combat System/ AEGIS Weapons System-Weapons Control System (WCS)
  • Analysis of tactical data, root cause analysis, and assessment of weapon specification requirements
  • Analysis of data, CPCRs and TORs
  • Assessment of program functionality and associated AWS and Non-AWS interfaces
  • Understanding of databases, queries, and SQL language
  • Develop and write analysis reports, criteria, and procedures
  • Support element and system level testing at land-based test sites and ships
  • Attend various review and status meetings
  • Support software testing events (land-based and shipboard)
  • Up to 25% of travel within the continental United States to government facilities and Navy ports per customer needs

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics and 1+ years of technical experience with Navy Combat Systems, or Highschool Diploma/GED with 2+ years of navy experience including recent experience in weapons control system (WCS) or vertical launch system (VLS)
  • Willingness and ability to learn new methods of Test and Evaluation (T&E) and analysis tools

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or mathematics is desired
  • Knowledge of the Aegis Weapon System to include the Vertical Launch Systems (VLS)
  • Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point, & Adobe Acrobat
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently without direct supervision

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have a current and active Secret Security Clearance

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time
  • Must frequently move within shipboard or test lab environments to support troubleshooting and communications

The projected compensation range for this position is $59,100.00-$98,000.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, MANTECH invests in its employees beyond just compensation.
