Position Overview

Serve patients in moments that matter and be a part of the future of health care. SCP Health is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join a high-performing Urgent Care team at Advocate Condell Immediate Care Center Gurnee, part of the prestigious Advocate Health System. This role offers a collaborative practice environment, strong physician leadership, and the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population while maintaining excellent work-life balance.

Clinical Highlights

  • Patient Volume: 22,000 Immediate Care volume
  • Specialties Mix:
    • 50% Medical / Surgical
    • 30% Orthopedics & Occupational Health
    • 20% Pediatrics
  • Coverage Model:
    • Physician coverage: 12-hour shifts (8a2p; 2p8p)
    • NP/PA coverage: 8-hour shifts (11a7p), MondayFriday
  • Number of Exam Rooms: 12 Immediate Care exam rooms
  • Acuity: Low-to-moderate acuity urgent care
  • EMR: Epic
  • Procedures: Laceration repair, splinting, basic orthopedic procedures, occupational health exams, minor procedures
  • Tele Coverage: No

Qualifications

  • Education: Masters or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Licensure: Active Illinois APRN license
  • Board Certification: AANP or ANCC certification required
  • Experience: Urgent care, emergency medicine, or family practice experience preferred
  • Collaborative Practice: Ability to work independently with on-site physician support

About Advocate Condell Immediate Care Center Gurnee:

This 12-bed Immediate Care Center is one of three satellite clinics within the Advocate Health System, providing high-quality care for minor illnesses, injuries, and occupational health needs. The facility features on-site point-of-care lab testing and radiology, with limited daytime weekday access to CT and ultrasound.

System Medical Director:

The role is supported by a System Medical Director overseeing three Urgent Care Centers throughout Chicagoland, ensuring consistent clinical leadership and operational excellence.
