What is an advisor solution architect?

An Advisor Solution Architect is a senior-level professional who designs and oversees complex technology solutions tailored to meet an organization's business needs. They work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, create strategic architectural plans, and ensure that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices. Advisor Solution Architects often lead technical teams, provide expert guidance throughout project lifecycles, and help organizations adopt new technologies effectively. Their role is crucial in bridging the gap between business goals and IT capabilities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an advisor solution architect?

To excel as an Advisor Solution Architect, you need deep expertise in systems architecture, cloud platforms, and solution design, usually supported by a degree in computer science or related fields and extensive industry experience. Familiarity with tools such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, as well as certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect or TOGAF, is highly valued. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills help you collaborate with stakeholders and guide technical teams effectively. These competencies are crucial for designing scalable, secure solutions that align with business goals and ensure successful project delivery.

How does an advisor solution architect typically collaborate with sales and technical teams during the solution development process?

As an Advisor Solution Architect, you will frequently act as a bridge between sales, technical teams, and clients. You’ll work closely with sales to understand client needs, then collaborate with engineers and developers to design tailored solutions that address those requirements. This often involves joint meetings, technical workshops, and ongoing communication to ensure the proposed architecture aligns with both business goals and technical feasibility. The role requires balancing technical depth with business acumen and strong interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration.

Solution Architect

Taktile

New York, NY • On-site

$275K - $315K/yr

Full-time

Re-posted 8 days ago

Job description

About The Role
Taktile empowers financial institutions to transform into truly AI-native organizations. As we grow with enterprise customers across banks and insurance companies, their architecture questions get harder: How does Taktile fit into an existing, complex and some-times decades-old core banking system landscape? How do we design for their security, availability, compliance, and integration requirements? Who speaks the language of their enterprise architects?
That's this role. As Solution Architect, you are a senior technical voice in our customer conversations - a sparring partner to enterprise architects at large financial institutions, helping them design how Taktile fits into their broader solution architecture.
What You'll Do as Solution Architect
  • Act as the trusted architecture counterpart for enterprise architects and technical leadership on the customer side - from first pre-sales conversations through large-scale production deployments.
  • Design the target solution architecture for enterprise transformations: how Taktile integrates into the customer's existing landscape of core systems, data platforms, and surrounding services, and how that architecture evolves over a multi-year journey.
  • Own the hardest architecture questions in our deals - integration patterns, deployment models, throughput, latency, security, compliance, data residency - and turn them from blockers into reasons to buy.
  • Lead architecture workshops, whiteboarding sessions, and reference architecture reviews with customer stakeholders from engineers up to CTOs.
  • Represent Taktile in senior architecture discussions on the customer side, giving their enterprise architects and technical leadership a credible, expert counterpart.
  • Build reusable reference architectures, integration blueprints, and best practices that scale across the Forward Deployed Engineering and Sales teams.
  • Work across pre-sales and post-sales: supporting Account Executives and Solution Engineers on complex enterprise deals, and partnering with Forward Deployed Engineers to ensure what was sold is what gets built.

About You
  • You bring 10+ years of experience in solution or enterprise architecture, with significant time spent working directly with large enterprises - ideally in financial services.
  • You have deep, hands-on knowledge of AWS and enterprise integration patterns (event-driven architectures, messaging, APIs, batch, streaming), and you know when to use which.
  • You've worked with enterprise-grade legacy systems - core banking platforms, loan origination systems (LOSs), loan management systems (LMS), front-end SDKs, mainframes, on-prem estates - and know what it actually takes to integrate a modern SaaS platform into them.
  • You have a solid grounding in security and compliance as they apply to regulated enterprises: authentication and authorization patterns, network architecture, encryption, data residency, and audit requirements.
  • You hold your own with the most senior technical stakeholders on the customer side - enterprise architects, Heads of Engineering, CTOs - and are seen as a peer, not a vendor.
  • You communicate complex architecture crisply, in writing, on a whiteboard, in a slide deck, and in the room, to both deeply technical and executive audiences.
  • You're comfortable operating across pre-sales and post-sales, and you know how to make architecture decisions that are right for the customer and commercially sound.

Ideal Qualifications (but not required)
  • You have experience as a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Principal Consultant at a B2B SaaS company, cloud provider, or top-tier consultancy serving financial institutions.
  • You have designed architectures involving AI/ML or Generative AI workloads in production.
  • You hold relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, TOGAF).
  • You have experience responding to enterprise RFPs and security/architecture reviews.

What We Offer
  • Work with colleagues that lift you up, challenge you, celebrate you and help you grow. We come from many different backgrounds, but what we have in common is the desire to operate at the very top of our fields. If you are similarly capable, caring, and driven, you'll find yourself at home here.
  • Make an impact and meaningfully shape an early-stage company.
  • Experience a truly flat hierarchy and communicate directly with founding team members. Having an opinion and voicing your ideas is not only welcome but encouraged, especially when they challenge the status quo.
  • Learn from experienced mentors and achieve tremendous personal and professional growth. Get to know and leverage our network of leading tech investors and advisors around the globe.
  • Receive a top-of-market equity and cash compensation package.
  • Get access to a self-development budget you can use to e.g. attend conferences, buy books or take classes.
  • Use the equipment of your choice including meaningful home office set-up.

Our Stance
  • We're eager to meet talented and driven candidates regardless of whether they tick all the boxes. We're looking for someone who will add to our culture, not just fit within it. We strongly encourage individuals from groups traditionally underestimated and underrepresented in tech to apply.
  • We seek to actively recognize and combat racism, sexism, ableism and ageism. We embrace and support all gender identities and expressions, and celebrate love in its many forms. We won't inquire about how you identify or if you've experienced discrimination, but if you want to tell your story, we are all ears.
