JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

WPI's Business School is seeking to hire an Operations Manager to facilitate the management of day-to-day operations and staff of the department and ensure a professional environment with proper implementation of policies and procedures. The desired candidate will manage essential functions for operation and growth of the department under the guidance of the Business School Dean.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

- Manage and coordinate operations of the Business School:

  • Assist and contribute to setting and documenting departmental policies and procedures, research, planning, and development activities.
  • Ensure that departmental operations comply with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provide needed support for departmental staff.

- Oversee and assist the Dean on day-to-day fiscal and budgetary administration of the School.

- Manage faculty and staff purchasing card functions, including application for new employees, assisting Accounting with timely processing, and approving expenses in Workday.

- Coordinate Business School faculty, staff and student recruiting:

  • Process faculty, staff and student employment authorizations, appointments, and salary documents.

- Oversee and assist with composition, editing, and design work for departmental publications and marketing efforts via venues such as the Web, social media, brochures and the department newsletter:

  • Develop with the Department Head, and oversee the creation and maintenance of, Business School-specific system for advertising internship, course scheduling, career opportunities and Business School alumni network.

- Support the Dean in development and management of special School events and functions, including coordinating School Advisory Board meetings, C-Suite Meetings, student orientation, open houses, School's annual student awards and ceremony, MQP events and programming, and providing support for regular undergraduate and graduate Business School events.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Three years of relevant experience, preferably in higher education
  • Knowledge of budget management
  • Workday experience preferred

Compensation:

Salary: $55,400 - $65,000 per year. Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity. WPI's benefits package includes a robust retirement match, wellness perks, tuition assistance and more!
