Job description

Our mission on the Advertising Product & Technology team is to build a next generation advertising platform that aligns with our unique value proposition for audio and video. We work to scale the user experience for hundreds of millions of fans and hundreds of thousands of advertisers. This scale brings unique challenges as well as tremendous opportunities for our artists and creators.
Spotify's mission is to unlock the potential of human creativity - giving a million artists the opportunity to live off their art, and billions of fans the chance to be inspired by it. Spotify Advertising supports this mission by helping brands connect with listeners through meaningful, effective ad experiences.
This is a pivotal moment for Spotify Advertising. As we scale globally and evolve into a performance-focused, AI-powered platform, design plays a central role in simplifying complex systems, building trust with advertisers, and driving scalable product growth. Our long-term vision is an intuitive platform embedded in advertiser workflows, powered by automation, measurement, and operational excellence.
We're looking for a mid-level product designer to join our Advertising R&D team. You'll own design quality and cohesion across a set of features in Spotify's advertiser-facing tools, working on high-priority areas including campaign creation, audience targeting, reporting, optimization, creative tooling, measurement, and internal platforms. If you enjoy solving complex problems alongside cross-functional partners and are comfortable navigating ambiguous, technical domains (including AI, automation, and experimentation), we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
  • Design end-to-end user experiences across Spotify's self-serve advertising platform (Ads Manager), contributing to features like ad creation, targeting, reporting, optimization, and measurement.
  • Work within and contribute to a shared design system used across Ads Manager and internal tools, with attention to component reusability, accessibility, and visual consistency.
  • Collaborate with engineers to translate backend systems, APIs, and ML-powered features into interfaces that are intuitive and performant.
  • Partner with PMs, engineers, data scientists, researchers, and content designers to shape product direction, advocate for user needs, and help influence your team's roadmap.
  • Build prototypes using real data and motion where relevant to explore technical constraints, validate interaction models, and communicate product behavior in dynamic, data-driven environments.
  • Work alongside researchers and data scientists to identify the right questions to answer, and use insights to deepen your team's understanding of user problems.
  • Support design efforts on internal tools used by operational teams, helping reduce manual processes and improve the efficiency and reliability of internal workflows.
  • Contribute to a feedback-rich team culture that values critique, iteration, and craft excellence.

Who You Are
  • You have experience designing complex, data-intensive B2B digital products. We typically look for around 3+ years of experience, though we value the depth and quality of your work over years alone.
  • You take ownership of design quality across your squad and can manage priorities effectively when working across multiple features or workstreams.
  • You have a strong visual design foundation and care about the details that elevate work from functional to excellent.
  • You connect design decisions to business goals and customer needs, and can advocate for those decisions clearly with stakeholders.
  • You're curious about AI, whether that's using AI tools in your design workflow, designing AI-powered features, or both.
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and bring structure and curiosity to problems where there isn't always a clear path forward.
  • You actively seek feedback on your work and thinking, and give thoughtful critique in return.
  • You foster inclusive collaboration: you proactively bring others in and hold space for different perspectives.
  • Nice to have: Experience designing advertising, monetization, or creative automation tools.
  • Nice to have: Background in operational tooling or designing for internal users with complex, high-volume workflows.
  • Nice to have: Experience contributing to or maintaining large-scale design systems.

Where You'll Be
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! For this role, it can be within the North America region in which we have a work location.
  • This team collaborates across the Eastern time zone

The United States base range for this position is $119,424.00 - 170,606.00, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays. This range encompasses multiple levels. Leveling is determined during the interview process. Placement in a level depends on relevant work history and interview performance. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Spotify is an equal opportunity employer. You are welcome at Spotify for who you are, no matter where you come from, what you look like, or what's playing in your headphones. Our platform is for everyone, and so is our workplace. The more voices we have represented and amplified in our business, the more we will all thrive, contribute, and be forward-thinking! So bring us your personal experience, your perspectives, and your background. It's in our differences that we will find the power to keep revolutionizing the way the world listens.
At Spotify, we are passionate about inclusivity and making sure our entire recruitment process is accessible to everyone. We have ways to request reasonable accommodations during the interview process and help assist in what you need. If you need accommodations at any stage of the application or interview process, please let us know - we're here to support you in any way we can.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
