How does an advertising agency production role collaborate with creative and account teams during campaign development?

In an advertising agency, the production team works closely with both creative and account teams to ensure the successful execution of campaigns. Production professionals translate creative concepts into actionable plans, coordinate with vendors, manage timelines, and oversee budgets. They facilitate communication between creatives—such as designers and copywriters—and account managers to address client feedback, resolve logistical issues, and ensure deliverables meet both quality standards and client expectations. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for delivering campaigns on time and within budget.

What is advertising agency production?

Advertising Agency Production refers to the process of managing and executing the creation of advertising materials, such as TV commercials, radio spots, digital ads, and print campaigns. Production teams work closely with creative, account, and media departments to ensure that concepts are brought to life efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role involves coordinating with vendors, overseeing shoots or recordings, and ensuring final deliverables meet client and media specifications. Effective production is crucial for delivering high-quality ads that achieve the campaign's objectives.

Job description

Situation Group, a global collective of digital-first advertising agencies and an award-winning nonprofit, seeks IT Technician to provide day to day desktop and network support. This role will report to the Director, IT and the selected candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and be nimble as priorities change throughout the day.
What You'll Do
We are looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented IT Technician to join our fast-paced digital-first advertising agency specializing in live events. In this role, you will be the first contact of our IT operations, ensuring that our designers, account managers, and executives have the seamless technology they need to meet tight deadlines.
The ideal candidate has a "no task too small" attitude, thrives in a high-pressure environment, and is equally comfortable troubleshooting a Windows server as they are clearing up stubborn printer jams.
Our office is located in midtown Manhattan. This role is required to be in-person 5 days a week (Mon-Fri).
Sample Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Cross-Platform Support: Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop support for a mixed environment of macOS (50%) and Windows (50%) workstations.
  • Software Management: Install, configure, and troubleshoot various software used by different departments throughout the company.
  • Network Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the agency's internal network, ensuring high-speed connectivity for large media file transfers and cloud backups.
  • Hardware Lifecycle: Manage the deployment, imaging, and hardware repair of laptops, desktops, and peripherals (Wacom tablets, monitors, etc.).
  • AV & Presentation Support: Set up and troubleshoot conference room technology for high-stakes client pitches.
  • Onboarding: Lead IT orientation for new hires, ensuring all hardware, software, and access permissions are ready on Day 1.

Requirements
  • Experience: 2-3 years of professional IT support experience, preferably within a creative agency, production house, or similar fast-paced industry.
  • Certifications: Active CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications are required.
  • OS Expertise: Deep knowledge of macOS and Windows troubleshooting.
  • Networking: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and WiFi troubleshooting.
  • Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts to "non-techy" creative professionals with patience and clarity.

Benefits
We offer a competitive base salary and a range of benefits and perks:
  • Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience
  • Health care plan (medical, dental and vision)
  • Retirement plan with employer match
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Generous paid time off package that includes vacation, sick, "life happens" days, birthdays, summer Fridays and public holidays
  • Paid family leave
  • Cold brew coffee, snacks and fresh fruit
  • Wellness resources
  • Special access to New York City's arts and entertainment scene

We have been honored for our commitment to our team with workplace awards from Crain's, Best Companies Group, Cynopsis, Digiday, and Fortune.
