We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to lead our Maryland maintenance and fleet operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong teams, and takes pride in keeping vehicles safe, reliable, and road-ready.

Position Summary
The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fleet maintenance, regulatory compliance, and shop operations at our Maryland location. This position ensures our motorcoach fleet remains safe, reliable, and customer-ready while supporting operational efficiency across the company.
You will lead technicians, coordinate maintenance planning, manage vendors, and ensure compliance with DOT and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet & Maintenance Management
  • Oversee preventive maintenance schedules for motorcoach fleet
  • Ensure timely completion of inspections, repairs, and safety checks
  • Monitor vehicle reliability, uptime, and maintenance trends
  • Maintain accurate fleet and maintenance records
  • Support diagnostic troubleshooting and repair planning as needed

Team Leadership
  • Supervise maintenance staff and shop personnel
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused shop culture
  • Assist in hiring, training, and performance management
  • Set expectations for workmanship, productivity, and safety

Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and state regulations
  • Oversee inspection readiness and audit preparation
  • Maintain safety documentation and repair records
  • Promote safe work practices across all fleet operations

Operational Coordination
  • Coordinate with operations to schedule repairs and minimize downtime
  • Manage outside vendors and service providers
  • Track maintenance costs and support budgeting efforts
  • Oversee parts ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency
  • Implement best practices in fleet maintenance
  • Support fleet growth initiatives and expansion planning

Qualifications
Required
  • 5+ years of fleet maintenance or heavy vehicle maintenance experience
  • 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Strong understanding of DOT/FMCSA compliance
  • Experience managing preventive maintenance programs
  • Ability to lead technicians and manage shop workflow
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred
  • Experience with motorcoaches, buses, or heavy-duty diesel equipment
  • CDL (or willingness to obtain)
  • Familiarity with fleet maintenance software
  • ASE or equivalent certifications
  • Budgeting or cost-management experience
