Job Summary and Qualifications
  • Develop and facilitate an adventure/challenge course curriculum with an emphasis on safety and community in a trusting environment that meets the therapeutic needs of the patients
  • Provides oversight, training, and management of the adventure program/ropes course facilities and program
  • Provide basic technical and facilitation skills for new MHT’s, and provide annual skills refresher training
  • Instruct and facilitate adventure activities, games, and challenge course activities
  • Evaluate the success of the adventure programs and patients in the program, and make adjustments accordingly
  • Facilitate group development and education outcomes
  • Set up and facilitate all ropes course elements including spotting and belaying.
  • Responsible for inventory, purchase and storage of all adventure equipment; inspection and maintenance of low and high elements; timely retirement, disposal and replacement of equipment to meet industry standards for safety; and provide related budget requests
  • Implements curriculum and safety protocol, facilitation of staff assignments, record keeping and reports.
  • Document patient progress in meeting treatment goals.
  • Responsible for development and implementation of family adventure guest programming.
  • Responsible for safety checks of all recreation areas.
  • Participate in weekend on call management rotations
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (DL) Driver License
  • High School Graduate / GED
