Job description

Adventist Health + Rideout is seeking multiple experienced Ortho Physician Assistant to join medical group just outside of Sacramento in Yuba City, CA. As a Trauma Physician Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to critically injured patients coming through our ED and Acute Care Surgery.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the trauma team, including trauma surgeons, emergency physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care to trauma patients.

  • Perform initial assessments and triage patients based on the severity of their injuries.

  • Assist in resuscitation efforts, including airway management, vascular access, and administration of medications.

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and order appropriate diagnostic tests to determine the extent of injuries.

  • Interpret diagnostic test results and communicate findings to the supervising physician.

  • Assist in performing life-saving procedures and surgeries, such as chest tube placement, central line insertion, and wound management.

  • Monitor patients' vital signs, administer medications, and provide necessary interventions to stabilize their condition.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program

  • Current certification and licensure as a Physician Assistant for California

  • DEA/NPI

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a trauma or surgery setting

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required

  • Strong knowledge of trauma assessment and management protocols.

  • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
