Advanced Paramedic - Emergency Room (MICT Certified)

Join a dynamic Emergency Department team as an Advanced Paramedic, delivering both direct and indirect patient care with initiative, flexibility, and clinical expertise under the supervision of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, or registered nurses. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members to ensure excellent service recovery and conflict resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate patient health status to RNs and physicians throughout the visit.
  • Keep patients informed about their treatment plans and assist in documenting care.
  • Perform specialized emergency care tasks within paramedic scope, including vital sign monitoring, wound care, oxygen administration, and cardiac monitoring.
  • Conduct phlebotomy, basic lab procedures, wound cultures, point-of-care testing, EKGs, and splint application.
  • Insert and discontinue IV catheters for adult and pediatric patients, documenting accordingly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock of treatment rooms and equipment.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient information privacy and security.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, in-services, and quality improvement initiatives.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Previous hospital experience.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Current MICT-Paramedic certification.
  • Healthcare Provider BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Required Skills and Attributes:
