Job description

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Project Manager to drive exciting and innovative microgrid projects in various locations across the West.

You will report to the Senior Director, Project Management, and work on a hybrid basis out of either our Santa Monica or Oakland, CA offices.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as the project manager for individual microgrid construction projects for our customers from contract signature through commissioning
  • Ensure our internal company functions (i.e., Business Development, Engineering, Service) are aligned throughout the project execution process
  • Prepare project schedules, operating rhythms, and sequence of operations to ensure all stakeholders (customers, contractors, material/ equipment vendors, and local regulatory agencies) are informed and engaged
  • Evaluate and manage 3rd party agreements and relationships with Contractors/EPCs and other material and service providers
  • Manage bid solicitation, bid review, selection, contractor negotiations, and establish and maintain project budgets
  • Track project costs and schedules to ensure the project is delivered on time and on target
  • Proactively identify and resolve conflicts and develop and implement viable solutions
  • Inform the development of our Project Management function to keep pace with our company’s rapid growth.

The Ideal Candidate

 

  • 10+ years of experience in construction management, general contracting, logistics, engineering, energy industry, or military experience
  • An understanding of building code and regulations
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Proactive and mission-driven behavior
  • Able to work autonomously and be comfortable representing Scale in customer-facing situations
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with determination to work through challenges
  • Team player who supports the growth of others with experience managing direct reports
  • Competency in Procore, MS Project (or similar scheduling software), G-suite/MS Office
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
