Swiss Programmer & Setup Machinist

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Join a family-owned company in Fort Wayne, IN, specializing in manufacturing high-quality gears for aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, and other industries. Since 1997, this team has been dedicated to innovation and quality, operating out of a 48,000 sq. ft. facility with a close-knit team of 24 employees—many with 20–25 years of tenure.

With a growth-oriented leadership team, the company has invested in advanced technology, including implementing Esprit software, and are on track to double the operation.

We are looking for talented individuals who want to grow and make an impact in this expanding operation!

About the Role

As a Swiss Programmer/Setup Machinist, you will play a pivotal role in the operations by leveraging your technical expertise in turning machines. This is an opportunity to:

  • **Program, set up, and operate **Swiss machines. Support lathe operations as needed.

  • Ensure quality parts for prototype and production work before handing them off to machine operators.

  • Influence future machine purchases and contribute to quoting new jobs.

  • Mentor and coach other machinists/operators as part of your career trajectory toward a leadership role as the companygrows

This is a 1st shift position with flexible hours from 6:45 AM to 4:00 PM.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Program Swiss machines (Esprit and/or MasterCAM)
  • Set up and operate or hand over operation on Swiss machines
  • Collaborate with production manger, quality department and operators
  • Assist in developmentof shop processes and growth
  • Expand company capabilities and capacity in turning operations
  • Train or coach other machinists as the shop grows
  • Write instruction sheets and tool lists

**Qualifications:**

  • 7+ years of experience programming (Esprit preferred)
  • Set up, operation, and editing experience on Swiss machines
  • Ability to read and interpret customerand engineer drawings and prints
  • Knowledge of measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills required with the ability to communicate across various levels of the organization
